Zora Slokar

Zora Slokar (* 1980 in Bern , Switzerland ) is a Swiss horn player .

Zora Slokar was born in Bern and first learned to play the violin. At the age of 16 she started playing the horn. She was first taught by her father, then by Thomas Müller at the University of Music in Bern. At the same time she continued her violin studies and graduated with a teaching diploma at the age of 21. From then on she studied horn in Maastricht and in Zurich with Radovan Vlatković .

Slokar won numerous prizes:

  • 1st prize at the Anemos competition in Rome 2002
  • 1st prize at the Ceccarossi competition in Rome 2003.
  • Final participation in the Paxman competition in London a. a.

She was principal horn player in the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra and the UBS Verbier Festival Orchestra; She is currently the principal horn of the Orchestra della Svizzera italiana in Lugano.
