Zromi Church
The Zromi Church ( Georgian წრომი or Georgian წრომის ტაძარი , t͡s'romɪ ) is a church in the same village Zromi in Khashuri in the region Shida Kartli in Georgia . The building is in the center of the village. Before the current church was built, an important church building had stood in the village of Zromi since the 4th century, in which St. Raschden was martyred. The present church was built by order of King Stepanos II (626–635). The Zromi Church was damaged and reworked several times in the Middle Ages . The dome collapsed during an earthquake in 1940. A new dome was then added to the church in the 1970s.
