The registration certificate is an official document to clarify the operating license of a motor vehicle on public roads in Austria, as the registered owner .

The registration certificate is valid as long as it concerns older vehicle registrations. However, it has been replaced by the registration certificate since 1999 , similar to the vehicle registration certificate in Germany. The term “registration certificate” is still used in everyday language for the registration certificate Part I, which has also been available in credit card format since January 1, 2011.

The admission certificate was issued by the district administration responsible for the place of residence or the magistrate for statutory cities. It was issued immediately with the license plate .

In contrast to the type certificate , the approval certificate must be carried when operating.
