The Zunari Kabuto , also Japanese. Three plates Kabuto or head-shaped Kabuto , is a helmet that was worn by the Japanese samurai with their armor ( Yoroi ).

description

The Zunari Kabuto is made of iron . It is one of the three-plate kabutos, as the helmet shell consists of three massive plates. There are two basic versions, which are (Japanese) called Hineno Kabuto and Etchu Kabuto. The only difference between these helmet versions is that in the Hineno Kabuto the large central plate runs under the plate of the eye protection, while in the Etchu Kabuto the central plate overlaps the plate of the eye protection. The additional decoration of the helmets can vary greatly. Generally, a side guard is applied to the helmet ( Jap. , A crest Fukigaeshi), a neck guard (Shikoro Jap.) (Jap. Maedate ) and a fastening tape (Jap. Shinobi-O-NOH), in order to fix the helmet on the head, mounted . The face masks (Japanese Menpo ) were often worn with this type of helmet . The helmets were often painted in different colors in Japan. This was used for decoration, but also to protect the metal of the helmet from the elements .
