weather
Weather is the weather or the weather conditions in a certain period of time (from several days to a season) in a certain area. It forms the regional impact of the current weather and local climate , particularly with regard to the tangible weather elements such as precipitation, temperature, wind, air pressure and humidity.
If you look at the weather in a location over a period of several days or weeks, the course of the weather elements - the weather situation - often shows a similar course over several days. So the weather elements often alternate. Even in the range of weeks, in the change of the season, partly stable general weather conditions , partly changeable weather conditions, which then cause typical local weather conditions.
Typical examples (for Central Europe) are:
- Periods of good weather , such as by the stable position of highs, summer weather by a Azores high , Indian summer , Föhn and currents föhnigen
- Bad weather attacks as regional effects of cold fronts through Atlantic lows , Vb weather patterns (Mediterranean lows ) or singularities such as ice saints , sheep cold
- Periods of frost
- Choppy weather due to alternating drafts of a disturbance with occasional calming weather
- Foggy and damp weather due to inversion weather conditions or autumn cooling phases
The practice of weather forecasting, i.e. predictions about long-term weather trends, is only just beginning and is particularly difficult in Europe due to its climatic conditions.
