weather condition
A weather situation represents the state of the atmosphere over an area and at a certain point in time. The weather situation determines the regional weather of the day. The lexicon of the German Weather Service defines:
"The term weather situation is the name for the weather condition, as it is with regard to the most important meteorological elements ( air pressure , geopotential , ground and altitude wind , cloud cover , precipitation , air temperature and humidity ) over a limited area during a short, at most one day time interval prevails. "
If the weather situation remains relatively the same over a few days, one speaks of general weather conditions . Typical weather patterns that recur depending on the season and contradict the mean annual cycle are called singularities .
Typical examples are Vb weather conditions , fair weather , foehn conditions , inversion weather conditions and omegalage .
