2D

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A square has 2 dimensions: length and width .

2D or 2-D is the abbreviation for two-dimensionality and the adjective two-dimensional . It is a synonym for tasks in a plane or a mathematically defined area - in contrast to 3D for spatial structures.

Two-dimensional means that each point of the object in question needs two numbers for its position - e.g. B. (x, y) to indicate its position on a drawing or in a plane coordinate system .

Most 2D calculations are surfaces, whereas a 3D object is usually a body .
