Sebring 12 hour race 1995
The 43rd Sebring 12-hour race , also the 43rd Annual Exxon Mastercard 12 Hours of Sebring International Grand Prix of Endurance, Sebring International Raceway , took place on March 18, 1995 at the Sebring International Raceway and was the second IMSA race GT series this year.
The race
The Sebring 12-hour race was part of the IMSA series in 1995 after the World Sports Car Championship was discontinued at the end of the 1992 season. WSC prototypes and GT vehicles of classes GTS-1 and GTS-2 were eligible to start.
The race is of historical importance as Andy Evans / Fermín Vélez / Eric van de Poele's win in the Ferrari 333SP was Ferrari's first in 23 years in the oldest sports car race in the USA. In 1972 , Mario Andretti and Jacky Ickx won a 312PB from Scuderia for the last time for the Italian brand at the Sebring International Raceway.
