The Aircel Chennai Open 2011 was a tennis tournament that took place from January 3rd to 9th, 2011 in Chennai . It was part of the 2011 ATP World Tour and was played outdoors on hard courts. In the same week the Qatar ExxonMobil was played in Doha and the Brisbane International in Brisbane , which, like the Aircel Chennai Open, belong to the ATP World Tour 250 category .

The defending champion in the singles was Marin Čilić , who was eliminated in the first round this year. It was won by Stanislas Wawrinka , who failed in the final last year. In doubles, Marcel Granollers and Santiago Ventura were the defending champions, but they did not compete this year. The winners were local heroes Mahesh Bhupathi and Leander Paes , who had won the tournament together four times between 1997 and 2001, and after a long break they won their first joint title since 2004.

The field of participants in the single competition consisted of 32 players, that of the double competition consisted of 16 pairs. The total prize pool was $ 398,250 and total financial liabilities were $ 450,000.
