The Aircel Chennai Open 2010 was a tennis tournament that took place from January 2nd to 10th, 2010 in Chennai . It was part of the ATP World Tour 2010 and was played outdoors on hard courts. The same week the Qatar ExxonMobil Open was played in Doha and the Brisbane International in Brisbane , which, like the Aircel Chennai Open, belonged to the ATP World Tour 250 category .

Last year's winner in the individual, Marin Čilić , was able to successfully defend his title this year. He won in a close final against the Swiss Stan Wawrinka in two sets in the tie-break. In doubles, the top-seeded defending champions, the US doubles Eric Butorac and Rajeev Ram , were eliminated in the first round. It won the second seeded Spanish duo Marcel Granollers and Santiago Ventura against Lu Yen-hsun and Janko Tipsarević 5: 7, 2: 6.

The field of participants in the single competition consisted of 32 players, that of the double competition consisted of 16 pairs. The total prize pool was $ 398,250 and total financial liabilities were $ 450,000.

The qualification took place from January 2nd to 4th, 2010. Four qualifying places were played, which entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament.
