The Heineken Open 2010 was a tennis tournament that took place from January 11th to 17th, 2010 in Auckland . It was part of the ATP World Tour 2010 and was played outdoors on hard courts. In the same week, the Medibank International Sydney was played in Sydney , which, like the Heineken Open, was part of the ATP World Tour 250 category .

Defending champion in the singles was Juan Martín del Potro , who did not take part in the tournament due to an injury. The winner was John Isner , who beat Arnaud Clément 6: 3, 5: 7, 7: 6 2 in the final and celebrated his maiden victory on the ATP World Tour . In doubles, Martin Damm and Robert Lindstedt were the defending champions, but this year they competed with different partners and were eliminated in the first round. The winners Marcus Daniell and Horia Tecău which ATP title could celebrate their second together.

The field of participants in the single competition consisted of 28 players, that of the double competition consisted of 16 pairs. The four top seeded players in the singles each got a bye into the second round. The total prize pool was $ 355,500 and total financial liabilities were $ 407,250.

The qualification took place from January 9th to 11th, 2010. Four qualifying places were played, which entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament. There was also a lucky loser.
