from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Albanikirche was a parish church in the old town of Erfurt .

history

The Albanikirche was located on Bahnhofstrasse on the corner with Mühlgasse on the site of what is now the Dresdner Bank office building.

It was first mentioned in a document in 1125. After the introduction of the Reformation in 1525, the church was used for Protestant purposes, but was no longer used for church services. When Erfurt was occupied by the Swedes during the Thirty Years War , they had the Albanikirche demolished in 1647.
