Office Krickenbeck

Amt Krickenbeck , also called Amt Krieckenbeck, Amt Krieckenbeek, Amt Krieckenbeeck or Amt Kriekenbeek, is a historical office in the upper quarter of the Duchy of Geldern . The office was on the Lower Rhine on the Nette and Niers rivers .

The county of Krickenbeck

In Mühlgau several counties were formed, such was Krickenbeck, named after the castle Old Krickenbeck . This county fell by inheritance to Count Adolf I von der Mark , a son of the Alveradis von Krickenbeck . In 1243 Adolf I sold the Krickenbeck land to Count Otto II von Geldern . The small county of Krickenbeck was transformed into an administrative district of the county of Geldern , the office of Krickenbeck.

The Geldrische Amt Krickenbeck

In addition to the land of Krieckenbeck, the office included the glory of Wankum, Herongen , Grefrath , Leuth and Lobberich . Venlo and the exclave Viersen did not belong to the state of Krieckenbeck, but to the office . Venlo became an independent judicial district after it was elevated to the status of a city. The center of the office and seat of the court was Hinsbeck .

The Geldrische Amt of Erkelenz

The Drossard (bailiff) of the Office managed in personal union the south to Office Erkelenz , a monetary literary enclave in the Duchy of Jülich this the glory belonged Erkelenz with some surrounding villages and Brempt , Niederkrüchten , Oberkrüchten and Wegberg , the four places were the Erkelenz through areas Jülich duchy and Schwanenberg, which belonged to Wickrath, separated. The Drost was represented in the Erkelenz office by the Vogt , who at the same time worked as a sovereign judge in the lay judge's court in criminal cases.
