Avan Jogia (born February 9, 1992 in Vancouver , British Columbia ) is a Canadian actor . He is best known for his portrayal of Beck Oliver in the television series Victorious .

Life

Jogia was born in Vancouver , British Columbia , where he also grew up. He is of Indian and European descent. His father was born in London and is originally from India . His mother has Irish, Welsh and French roots. Jogia spent his youth mainly in Canada , Germany and England . In Vancouver he went to various schools, such as the Killarney Secondary School and the King George Secondary School , and he also received private tuition. Jogia left school in tenth grade to focus on his acting career.

Career

Jogia's career began in 2006 with the role of Danny Araujo in the TV movie A Girl Like Me: The Gwen Araujo Story . A little later he was seen in the film Devil's Diary . In 2007 came guest appearances in the series Aliens in America as Sam . In 2008 he starred alongside Nathan Kress in the Nickelodeon film Gym Teacher: The Movie the Champ and in 2009 the Tajid in Spectacular! . In 2010 he had a supporting role in the Battle Galactica - prequel - sci-fi series Caprica as Ben Stark .

From 2010 to 2013 Jogia played alongside Victoria Justice in the Nickelodeon series Victorious , developed by Dan Schneider , in the role of Beck Oliver . Like all other leading actors in Victorious, he starred in the crossover to Victorious and iCarly, also produced by Dan Schneider, entitled iCarly: Party with Victorious .

In October 2012 Jogia got the lead role of Danny Desai in the ABC Family television series Twisted , which has been broadcast on the station since March 2013. However, the series was not renewed after the first 19 episode season, which the broadcaster confirmed on August 13, 2014.

Meanwhile Jogia made several films, including Ten Thousand Saints , Shangri La Suite and The Outskirts .

In early September 2014, it was announced that Jogia would play the title role of King Tutankhamun in the Spike TV- produced miniseries Tut - The Greatest Pharaoh of All Time . The shooting for it took place in the autumn of that year in Morocco and Canada . In addition, acting legend Sir Ben Kingsley could be won for a role in the 3-part mini-series.

It was also announced that Jogia has taken on a role alongside James Franco in the drama I Am Michael . The film was released in 2015.
