The Roman Catholic Diocese of Manzini ( lat. Dioecesis Manziniensis , Engl. Diocese of Manzini ) is in Swaziland situated Roman Catholic diocese , based in Manzini .

history

Pope Pius XI founded on April 19, 1923 from cession of territory of the Apostolic Vicariate Natal as Apostolic Prefecture Swaziland . On March 15, 1939, she was raised to the Apostolic Vicariate and on January 11, 1951 to the diocese of Bremersdorp, which was subordinate to the Archdiocese of Pretoria as a metropolitan diocese. Part of its territory was given to the Apostolic Prefecture Volksrust and on November 12, 1962 another to the Apostolic Prefecture Ingwavuma .

It was given its current name on November 7, 1961. On June 5, 2007, it was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Johannesburg .
