history
The castle was built around 1180 and in 1349 went as a fief to the von Lehrbach family , who gave up the castle in 1550 and moved their seat to Heimertshausen .
The castle was destroyed in the Thirty Years' War (1618 to 1648). In 1901 the ruin was restored. In 2006 a small part of the ruin continued to fall apart. Today, the three-story ruin still shows the entrance area, remains of the perimeter wall and the remains of the three-story palace with Portal , fireplace, windows and gables .
