history

Entrance portal with coat of arms

In place of an old village deserted village (Reissdorf became deserted in 1427) from the 14th century, a branch of the Schenck zu Schweinsberg built this moated castle in 1538. It was restored in 1977/79 and is now privately owned.

The castle complex consists of a residential building, a surrounding wall with four corner towers, three of which have been preserved. The moat has meanwhile been filled in.
