The Postal Neuburg , also Nuinburg called, is a Outbound High Middle Spur castle on a 600  m above sea level. NHN high mountain spur of the Irschenberg in the "Hocholz" 1000 meters south-southeast of the church of Vagen , a district of the Feldkirchen-Westerham community in the Rosenheim district in Bavaria .

The castle was probably built by the Counts of Neuburg-Falkenstein in the 12th century. Around 1158 "Comes [= Count] Sigiboto de Newenburch" (= Siboto IV. Von Falkenstein) is called. In 1164 an upper and a lower castle chapel was consecrated. In 1166 the castle is mentioned in the Codex Falkensteinensis as one of the four main residences of the count family and is shown in a schematic pen drawing.

The castle was destroyed around 1247 and the manorial power passed to the Wittelsbach family . Later, the ruinous castle, and with it the rulership, was owned by several families from the lower nobility, in 1354 Otto von Maxlrain was the owner, and in 1413 it passed to the Lords of Schalchdorf. In the period from the 16th century to 1638 the Lords of Lösch were the owners.

From the 14th century the castle fell into disrepair and the remains were used as building material for the Weihenlinden pilgrimage church built in 1653 . The remains of the moat still bear witness to the former small-scale castle complex .
