The CONCACAF Gold Cup 2019 was the 25th game of the continental football championship for North, Central America and the Caribbean and the 15th under the name Gold Cup . It took place from June 15 to July 7, 2019 in the USA , Costa Rica and Jamaica . The field of participants increased for the first time to 16 teams.
The winner was Mexico for the 11th time , beating defending champions USA 1-0 in the final .

qualification
The qualification phase had changed. There were no longer regional tournaments in Central America ( Copa Centroamericana ) and in the Caribbean ( Caribbean Cup ) to qualify for the Gold Cup. The field of participants consists of the six teams from the 5th round of the CONCACAF qualification for the 2018 World Cup . The remaining ten participants resulted from qualifying for the CONCACAF Nations League 2019/20 . The ten best-placed teams in the qualification took part in the 2019 Gold Cup.

The venues in the USA were announced by CONCACAF on May 18, 2018. On November 26, 2018, CONCACAF announced that two Group B games would take place at the Estadio Nacional de Costa Rica in San José , Costa Rica . Another venue was added on April 2, 2019 with Independence Park in Kingston , the capital of Jamaica . This means that the game will be played in 16 cities and 17 stadiums.

Group stage
In contrast to the 2017 tournament, only the respective group winners and runners-up qualified for the quarter-finals, but there was also one group more. The third and fourth place winners were eliminated from the competition. The composition of the groups and the dates were announced on April 11, 2019.
