The Crédit Agricole Suisse Open Gstaad 2013 was a tennis tournament that took place from July 22nd to 28th, 2013 in Gstaad . It was part of the ATP World Tour 2013 and was played on clay court. In the same week were in Atlanta , the BB & T Atlanta Open and in Umag , the ATP Vegeta Croatia Open played that just like the Crédit Agricole Suisse Open Gstaad to category ATP World Tour 250 counted.

The defending champion in the singles was the Brazilian Thomaz Bellucci , who was eliminated in the first round this year. Surprisingly, the Russian Michail Juschny won the final against the Dutchman Robin Haase in straight sets 6: 3 and 6: 4. With Roger Federer and Stanislas Wawrinka , two Swiss were top placed for the first time in an ATP tournament. Both were eliminated early, however; Federer in the second round against Daniel Brands and Wawrinka in the quarterfinals against Feliciano López . Both complained of back pain in their games, with Wawrinka even having to give up his game against López in the decisive set.

Marcel Granollers and Marc López won the doubles title last year , but they did not take part in the tournament in Gstaad this year. Jamie Murray and John Peers won the final against the unseeded Spanish duo Pablo Andújar and Guillermo García-López in straight sets 6: 3 and 6: 4. For the British - Australian duo this was the second joint title this year. They have already won the tournament in Houston .

The field of participants in the single competition consisted of 28 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs. The four top seeded players each received a bye into the second round.

qualification

The qualification for the Crédit Agricole Suisse Open Gstaad 2013 took place on July 20 and 21, 2013. Four qualifying places were played, which entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament.
