Brook in Dato Rua

Before the 2015 territorial reform, Dato Rua had an area of 31.70 km². Now there are 31.06 km². The Suco forms the west of the Fohorem administrative office. To the east are the Sucos Lactos and Fohoren , which also belong to Fohorem . To the south is the Tilomar administrative office with its Suco Beiseuc , to the west is the Fatumean administrative office with its Sucos Nanu and Fatumea and to the northeast is the Fatululic administrative office with its suco of the same name . In the north, Dato Rua borders the Indonesian West Timor . The border to the neighboring state is formed by the Lelosi , a tributary of the Tafara . The Masai flows for long stretches along the western and southern borders, and the Bora flows into it on the eastern border with Fohoren . The Masai is also a tributary of the Tafara.

From the south, a small road leads to the center of Sucos, where most of Dato Ruas are located. These are Aitos , Weluli , Fatulidun ( Fatukledun ) and Halitaran . The village of Beihutuk ( Beibutuk ) lies on the eastern border with Fohoren . The only place in the north is Hali-Laran ( Hali Laran ), which also has a primary school, the Escola Primaria Dato Rua . The Suco is poorly connected to the outside world. For the parliamentary elections in East Timor in 2007 , the ballot boxes had to be brought to the polling station in the elementary school and picked up by helicopter.

In the suco there are the three aldeias Aitos , Fatulidun and Hali-Laran .

Residents

803 inhabitants live in the Suco (2015), of which 394 are men and 409 women. The population density is 25.9 inhabitants / km². There are 164 households in the Suco. Over 95% of the population name Tetum Terik as their mother tongue. A minority speaks Tetum Prasa .

politics

In the 2004-2005 elections , Albino dos Santos was elected Chefe de Suco. In the 2009 elections , Eduardo Suri won .
