El Sueño de Morfeo ( Morpheus' Dream) was a Spanish pop / rock band from Asturias , Spain .

history

They formed in 2002 under the name Xemá . Their first album, Del interior , went on sale in the same year but was not very successful. After joining Juan Luis Suárez in 2003, they decided to change the group's name to El Sueño de Morfeo , which was also the name of the second album, released in 2005. Thanks to the support of the production company Globomedia Música, which also had the band appear in some episodes of the Los Serrano series , the first single Nunca volverá in Spain was a great success. El Sueño de Morfeo was able to confirm this with the second single Ojos de cielo .

On their first tour, they performed in over 100 different locations in Spain; a total of over a million people attended the concerts. El Sueño de Morfeo went platinum for her second album . On April 17, 2007, the studio album Nos vemos en el camino was released in Spain .

The singer Raquel del Rosario was married to the Formula 1 driver Fernando Alonso since 2006 . In December 2011, the couple announced their separation. In 2013 Raquel del Rosario married the photographer Pedro Castro , with whom she gave birth to their first child Leo on July 15, 2014 . On May 9, 2016, the couple gave birth to their second child together, named Mael.

The group was appointed by TVE to represent Spain at the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest . In a decision show, the pop-rock title Contigo hasta el final (With You Until The End) was selected for it. The group reached the final of the ESC and took 25th and penultimate place.

Also in 2013 the band's last album together, Todos tenemos un sueño, was released. This is a best of album of the greatest hits, some of which were re-recorded with well-known personalities such as Nek .

In late 2014, the band announced that they would meet in January of the following year to work on a new album. The work was never taken up, instead the band announced that they wanted to go their separate ways from now on.
