education and profession

Franz Philipp Aull studied law and became court attorney in Mainz. In 1817 he became a supplementary judge at the Mainz District Court and in 1821 President of the same. In 1831 he was retired. On January 10, 1834, he was recalled to the judiciary and became a councilor at the Darmstadt Court of Appeal and Cassation . On March 13, 1835, he was retired again. In 1838 he was appointed member and councilor of the Mainz Higher Court and in 1849 its president.

politics

For the constituency Rheinhessen 4 (Wörrstadt) , Aull was elected to the state estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse in the first election in 1820 . His re-election to the second state parliament in the same constituency led to an intense debate in the state estates as to whether his office as district court president in Mainz was compatible with his mandate in the second chamber. The majority of the Second Chamber saw no compatibility and rejected his mandate.

In the fifth period he was re-elected to the state parliament, this time for the constituency Rheinhessen 5 (Nieder-Olm / Bretzenheim). Here, too, he resigned after a parliamentary term. Between 1841 and his final resignation in 1848, he represented the constituency of the city of Mainz in the second chamber. From 1844 to 1847 he was the second president of the chamber.
