The 2018/19 season was the 29th season of the Bundesliga , officially Allianz Women's Bundesliga , in women's football . The season began on September 15, 2018 and ended with the last matchday on May 12, 2019. The champions and runners-up qualify for the UEFA Women's Champions League , while the last two teams have to be relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga .
For the third time in a row, VfL Wolfsburg won ahead of FC Bayern Munich . Both teams have thus qualified for participation in the 2019/20 UEFA Women's Champions League . Werder Bremen relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga after the second season in the Bundesliga, and the newcomer Borussia Mönchengladbach also had to relegate directly. The top scorer was Ewa Pajor from VfL Wolfsburg with 24 goals.
