history
The name comes from the location of the gallows, which was near the Nuremberg Frauentor. There was a fortified seat called Unter-Galgenhof in contrast to the Upper Galgenhof, which was later to be called the Glockenhof . In 1552 during the Second Margrave War , Untergalgenhof was burned down for strategic reasons.
At the end of the 18th century there were 49 properties in (Unter-) Galgenhof. The high court exercised the imperial city of Nuremberg , but this was disputed by the Brandenburg-Ansbach Oberamt Schwabach . The landlords were the imperial city of Nuremberg: Landpflegamt (1 house), War Office (1 horn factory, 1 crown factory with guard houses); Nuremberg owners : von landlord (1 house), von Löffelholz (1 garden with buildings and laundry), Burkhard v. Öffelholz'scher Familienfideikommiss (1 house with laundry), von Tucher (1 tavern, 3 houses with laundry, 1 estate), von Volckamer (1 tavern with laundry, 6 houses with laundry, 1 house, 1 garden), von Wölkern (1st floor) House with laundry).
In 1806 Galgenhof came to Bavaria . As part of the municipal edict, the Galgenhof tax district was formed in 1808 , to which Gibitzenhof , Hummelstein , Lichtenhof and Sandreuth belonged. In the same year the rural community Galgenhof was formed, which was congruent with the tax district. In administration and jurisdiction it was subordinate to the Regional Court of Nuremberg and in financial administration to the Fürth Rent Office . In voluntary jurisdiction, 3 properties from 1821 to 1835 were subject to the Patrimonial Court (PG) Groß- und Kleingeschaidt , 3 properties from 1823 to 1835 to the PG Lohe , 2 properties from 1822 to 1834 to the PG Lohe and Behringersdorf and 3 properties from 1821 to 1835 to the PG Steinach . On October 1, 1825, Galgenhof was incorporated into Nuremberg .
The old village street of Galgenhof is today's Galgenhofstraße. The Fischbach , on which the laundry houses were located, flowed along this street .
