history

The hamlet "Mugenhoff" was first mentioned in 1377. A first homestead was laid out in the 11th or 12th century.

The preserved historical part of the hamlet is now protected as an ensemble . The oldest economy in town, the so-called " Erbschänke ", whose roots go back to the 15th century, was notarized by Emperor Maximilian I in 1510 , which led to a centuries-long legal dispute with the city of Nuremberg, which Friedrich III. had received an inheritance license also for the area.

At the end of the 18th century there were 6 properties in Muggenhof. The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbach Oberamt Cadolzburg , but this was disputed by the imperial city of Nuremberg . The Landpflegamt Nürnberg and the Rittergut Neudorf jointly held village and community rulership . The landlords were the Neudorf manor (2 farms, 2 half farms, 1 tavern) and the Nuremberg owner von Petz (1 estate).

In 1796 Muggenhof went to Prussia and in 1806 to Bavaria . As part of the municipal edict, Muggenhof was assigned to the Höfen tax district formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Höfen , which was founded in the same year . In the voluntary jurisdiction, 3 properties were subject to the Neudorf Patrimonial Court until 1809 .

The first German railway ran through Muggenhof in 1835 . The Nuremberg-Doos station was until 1991 in operation. On January 1, 1899, Muggenhof was incorporated into Nuremberg.
