Gillian Lindsay

Gillian Anne Lindsay (born September 24, 1973 in Paisley ) is a former British rower . She won an Olympic silver medal in 2000.

Lindsay took in the Junior World Championships in 1990 to eighth place in the quadruple sculls , 1991, she finished fifth in the four without coxswain . At the age of 18, she finished eighth in the 1992 Olympics with the British foursome without a helmsman . After a three-year break, she competed with the four-man without a helmsman at the 1995 World Championships and finished in fifth place.

In 1997 she started in the Rowing World Cup in double sculls and in double sculls, at the 1997 World Championships she and Miriam Batten won the silver medal behind the German double sculls with Kathrin Boron and Meike Evers . The following year, Batten and Lindsay won the World Championships in Cologne . In 1999 the British double scull only reached seventh place at the World Championships . In 2000, Miriam Batten and Gillian Lindsay competed in double fours together with Guin Batten and Katherine Grainger . At the Olympic Games in Sydney , the British won the silver medal behind the German quadruple.
