Greinats is a hamlet and part of the independent city of Kempten (Allgäu) .

In 1374 a "Griners" was mentioned for the first time, which belonged to the Wagegg rule . In 1548 the prince monastery of Kempten acquired goods and people from Greinats. In 1819, one year after the formation of the Sankt Mang community , Greinats had two farms with ten residents. Then Greinats belonged to the captaincy Lenzfried . In 1864 one of the courtyards burned down, but was immediately rebuilt. In 1900 there were two farms with twelve residents.

On August 1, 1954, Greinats had eight residents. In 1972, Greinats was reclassified to Kempten as part of the Sankt Mang community .
