Hatu-Builico is an East Timorese administrative office ( Portuguese Posto Administrativo ) in the municipality of Ainaro . The administrative headquarters are in Suco Mulo . "Hatu-Builico" means "loose stone" in the local Mambai language .

Hatu-Builico is located in the municipality of Ainaro between Ainaro and Maubisse

Until 2014, the administrative offices were still referred to as sub-districts . Before the territorial reform in 2015, Hatu-Builico had an area of 129.88 km². Now there are 129.34 km².

Hatu-Builico lies between the administrative offices of Ainaro and Hato-Udo in the south and Maubisse in the north. The municipality of Ermera is to the west and the municipality of Manufahi to the east . The landscape is mountainous. In addition to Tatamailau ( 2963 m ), East Timor's highest mountain, Cablac ( 2180 m ) on the western border with Manufahi is another historically important mountain in the administrative office. The Telemau and Dare rivers arise in the north of the administrative office and flow here into the Belulik , which crosses the administrative office in the middle from northeast to northwest.

Hatu-Builico is divided into three sucos: Mulo , Mauchiga ( Mau-Chiga ) and Nuno-Mogue ( Nunu Mogue ) with the town of Hatu-Builico . The administration is in Mulo.

The administrative office has 12,966 inhabitants (2015), of which 6,543 are men and 6,423 women. The population density is 100.2 inhabitants / km². The largest language group are the speakers of the national language Mambai . In addition to the Catholic majority, there are Protestants in Tolemau and Muslims . The average age is 15.3 years (2010, 2004: 16.9 years).

The region was the operational area of the FALINTIL , which fought against the Indonesian invaders.

On August 20, 1982, FALINTIL fighters attacked the Koramil in Dare and Koramil and police in Hatu-Builico. This was part of the Cabalaki uprising in which several Indonesian bases in the region were attacked at the same time. The Indonesians immediately sent more troops to the region. In Dare houses were burned down, schools closed and women and children were forced to keep watch in military posts. There were also forced relocations, pillage, looting and rape. Military posts were set up in every Aldeia in the region, plus eight community posts around Dare. FALINTIL fighters and much of the population fled the area.

Hatu-Builico was one of the places where Timorese were taken for interrogation by the Indonesians. Many victims were pushed into a gorge several hundred meters deep near the town of Hatu-Builico. When relatives asked the Indonesian authorities about their whereabouts, they received the reply "We sent him to Jakarta". With that, the death of the kidnapped was clear. Hatu-Builico was called "Jakarta 2" because of the statement.
