Buildings

  • The village church of Bollensdorf was built between 1946 and 1953. On the 1st of Advent 2008, the 55th anniversary of the church was celebrated. In 2007/2008 the church was restored on the initiative of the citizens, through donations and with the help of the work of several companies. The Lausitzer Rundschau described this initiative by the residents of Bollensdorf as the “miracle of Bollensdorf”. The church furnishings are from the construction period.
  • The village church Ihlow is the only one in Fläming that has a two-pointed church tower. Legend has it that the devil rode through the church and the church has had two points since then.
  • The village church Illmersdorf was built in the 13th century. The church leader of the church district of Zossen-Fläming points to a fact that is described as "curious": the coat of arms and the family name do not match. The Fifth must have been broken earlier and then repaired. The broken parts were put back together again, offset by 90 degrees.
  • The village church Mehlsdorf is a plastered building made of field and wall stone from 1665. Inside there is a pulpit altar from the second half of the 17th century.
  • The village church in Niendorf was built in the 18th century on the base of a previous building. In 1908 it was remodeled in neo-baroque style by the parish. Inside there is an altar and a pulpit from the 18th century.
  • The village church of Rietdorf is a stone church from the first half of the 13th century. Inside there is an altarpiece from the first half of the 17th century.
