Irene Dalby

Irene Karine Dalby (born May 31, 1971 in Stange ) is a former swimmer from Norway .

The middle-distance specialist had her strongest time in the late 1980s and early 1990s, when she won the silver medal at the European Championships in 1989 in the 800 meter freestyle and in 1991 she was able to win both titles in the 400 m and 800 m. At the Olympic Games in 1992 , she finished fifth over 800 meters. Four years later in Atlanta she was able to repeat this placement.

In 1991 she was honored with the Morgenbladet gold medal.
