In January 2015, he took part in the European Youth Olympic Winter Festival in Malbun and classified himself on ranks 10 and 14 in giant slalom and slalom . The following March he competed in the Junior World Championships for the first time in Hafjell and finished all five races outside the top 30. After he had put in a first talent test at the 2016 Winter Youth Olympic Games in Lillehammer with ranks six and eight in combination and giant slalom, he succeeded also a respectable performance at his second Junior World Championships in Sochi . Both in the combination and in the slalom, he was the best U18 participant with ranks 14 and 20. Then he took part in two other Junior World Championships, but was only able to build on these results to a limited extent.

On January 13, 2017, Zabystřan made his World Cup debut in the combination of Wengen . A few weeks later he contested his first world championship in St. Moritz and started in four disciplines, with a 38th place in the combination remaining his best result. A year later he was part of the Czech team in the first ever team competition at his first Olympic Games in Pyeongchang . In Super-G and Downhill he finished 40th and 46th. After good performances in the South American and Far East Cup , he won his first World Cup points in January 2019 with 27th place in the Lauberhorn combination . At the Czech championships he was able to build on this performance with silver and at the world championships in Åre with rank 15.
