The team competition in alpine skiing , held for the first time at the Olympic Winter Games, took place on February 24, 2018 in the Yongpyong Alpine Center in Pyeongchang . The gold medal was won by the Swiss team , ahead of Austria and Norway .
regulate
The race was held in the form of a parallel slalom (with giant slalom gates). Each team provided two athletes; it was also possible to use two reserve runners. In every duel between two teams there were four runs, with the winner of a run getting one point for his team. The first and third runs were women against women, the second and fourth runs were men against men. If after four runs the result was 2: 2, the addition of the running times of the better man and the better woman of a team decided.
The matches in the round of 16 were determined according to the status in the national ranking of the Alpine Ski World Cup immediately before the start of the Olympic Winter Games. Thus z. B. Austria set as No. 1, Switzerland as No. 2, etc.
