Kai Hahto
Kai Hahto (born December 31, 1973 in Vaasa , Finland ) is a Finnish drummer and drum teacher. He plays in the melodic death metal - band Wintersun , the rock - / Blues band Max on the Rox and the symphonic metal band Nightwish . He was also a member of the grindcore band Rotten Sound . He also played in many other bands, from jazz to black metal .
Hahto has an endorsement contract with Meinl Cymbals for cymbals, Pearl for drums and pedals, Balbex for batons, Roland V-Drums and Finfonic for headphones. Before that, he played with a drum kit hand-made by the Finnish drum manufacturer Kumu.
In August 2014 it was announced that Hahto was temporarily replacing Nightwish drummer Jukka Nevalainen , who had retired due to health problems . He has been a permanent member of Nightwish since July 2019, replacing Jukka Nevalainen, who takes care of the band's business in the background.
