The lexicon of international films wrote that the film was a “confused conglomerate of genre elements with no narrative context that delivers its contourless protagonist to a story without a central conflict”. The “appealing” camera work was praised.

Cinema magazine wrote that the "mediocre horror" was "only the chaff from the horror wheat".

The film was released direct on video in most countries, such as the United States and Germany. In the summer of 2000, however, there were some cinema screenings in Amsterdam .
