Leon Boden (born July 14, 1958 in Kiel as Dietrich Georg Boden ; † April 18, 2020 ) was a German actor , director and voice actor . He was also known as the German voice of Denzel Washington and Jason Statham .

Life

Leon Boden studied acting and directing at the Salzburg Mozarteum and graduated with a diploma in singing. Since the early 1980s he has played theater at the Elisabethbühne , in Salzburg , Graz , Bremen , at the state theaters and at the Deutsches Theater Berlin . Boden's representational spectrum ranged from William Shakespeare to Kurt Tucholsky to pieces of contemporary literature . At that time he also staged two plays himself.

He worked extensively as a voice actor. He was the standard voice of Denzel Washington and Jason Statham and also voiced Will Smith , Wesley Snipes , Ted Danson , Samuel L. Jackson , Laurence Fishburne , James Belushi and Idris Elba .

At the end of the 1990s he was managing director of Alligator-Film Düsseldorf. At the same time he worked twice as a film director; however, both films flopped. From the 1990s on, Boden took on numerous roles in television films and series, thereby increasing his profile.

Boden died in April 2020 at the age of 61 from complications from cancer.
