career

As A-Junior he made his debut on March 21, 1965 in the youth national team of the DFB. In April of that year he took part in the UEFA youth tournament and finished fifth with the German team. Participants were Norbert Nigbur , Egon Köhnen , Berti Vogts , Walter Bechtold and Horst Köppel . The striker played for TSV 1860 Munich in the 1st Bundesliga from 1965 to 1968 and was part of the “Löwen” squad when he won the German championship in the 1965/66 season. But he stayed in his first year as a Bundesliga footballer without a league assignment. In the 1966/67 season he had 18 games and six goals share in the runner-up behind the Braunschweiger Eintracht. He made his Bundesliga debut on matchday four, September 10, 1966, in a 3-3 home draw against MSV Duisburg. Together with Hans Küppers , Rudi Brunnenmeier , Friedhelm Konietzka and Hans Rebele, he formed the storm of coach Max Merkel's team . In the 1968/69 season he was with 1. FC Cologne . There he came under coach Hans Merkle on only 13 missions in which he only managed one goal. On August 17, 1968 he was a member of the Cologne team, which started the season 1968/69 successfully with a 2-1 home win. The midfield was filled with Heinz Simmet , Heinz Flohe , Wolfgang Overath and the attack with Carl-Heinz Rühl , Bründl and Heinz Hornig . 1. FC Köln only came 13th in the table at the end of the season, the newcomer from Munich left Cologne immediately and switched to the Stuttgart Kickers in the second division of the regional soccer league south . Although only the midfield places 12th (1970) and 10th (1971) came out with the "blues", but under coach Georg Wurzer Bründl found his scoring quality back. He was the top scorer in the southern season with 21 goals in the 1970/71 season. The successful striker got a contract with Eintracht Braunschweig for the 1971/72 season and thus returned to the first Bundesliga. After relegation to the Bundesliga in 1973 , Bründl scored Eintracht in the Regionalliga Nord in 1973/74 with 20 goals in 25 games for direct recovery. He stayed in Braunschweig for another two years and then moved to Vevey Sports in Switzerland

Bründl played a total of 150 Bundesliga games and scored 42 goals.

After his time as a professional player, he was often seen in the traditional team of TSV 1860 until recently .
