Academy Awards presenters

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In the early years of the Academy Awards , the presenters of the Academy Awards were often the presidents of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences . From 1953 to 1957, in addition to moderating the ceremony in Los Angeles , New York City also had its own moderators due to the time difference. In 1958 and 1959 there was a whole squad of equal moderators for an award ceremony for the first time. This concept was taken up again in the 1970s . There was no official moderator at the 1969, 1970, 1971 and 1989 awards. Since the end of the 1970s, a moderator has usually been leading through the program; only in a few exceptional cases were there two or more.

The main moderator is supported by numerous laudators . In the actor categories, these are usually the winners of the previous year, in each case for the opposite sex.

The most frequent Oscar presenter to date is entertainer Bob Hope , who has hosted the event seventeen times. Billy Crystal was honored with the television award Emmy several times for his moderation in the 1990s .
