Nordgeorgsfehn is a place in the municipality of Uplengen in the district of Leer in Lower Saxony in East Frisia . The mayor is Frank Meyer ( CDU ).

history

Nordgeorgsfehn was founded in 1829 as a fen colony . The Fehn was named after King George IV of Great Britain and Hanover . Nordgeorgsfehn belongs to the Evangelical Lutheran parish of Hollen. The first settlers recorded in the church register were the families Heere Andreesen Meyer von Jheringsfehn and Ubbe Hinrichs Lambertus von Spetzerfehn.

On January 1, 1973, Nordgeorgsfehn was incorporated into the new municipality of Uplengen.
