The South African Union participated in the 1920 Summer Olympics in Antwerp , Belgium , with a delegation of 39 athletes (38 men and one woman) in 34 competitions in seven sports. Ten medals (three gold and bronze and four silver) were won. The youngest athlete was the boxer Roy Ingram (19 years and 276 days), the oldest athlete was the marksman George Harvey (42 years and 205 days). It was the fourth Summer Olympics for the country.
