Sweden took part in the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City with a delegation of 100 athletes (86 men and 14 women) in 95 competitions in 13 sports.

The Swedish athletes won two gold medals as well as one silver and one bronze medal, with Sweden taking 20th place in the medal table. The Olympic champions were the pentathlete Björn Ferm and the sailors Ulf , Peter and Jörgen Sundelin in the 5.5 meter class. The standard bearer at the opening ceremony was the canoeist Rolf Peterson .
