Raymond Delisle (born March 11, 1943 in Ancteville , † August 11, 2013 in Hébécrevon , Département Manche ) was a French cyclist .

Career

In 1963, Raymond Delisle, while still an amateur , was third in the Tour de l'Avenir , and the following year French champion in team time trial . In 1965 Delisle turned pro and competed twelve times in the Tour de France in the following years . In 1969 he won a stage, also in 1976 , wore the yellow jersey for two days , finished fourth overall and was named the most combative driver . He was ninth in 1977 , eleventh in 1970 , 1972 and 1973 , twelfth in 1974 , and sixteenth in 1975 . In 1973 he was the first to reach the Col de Portet-d'Aspet , in 1974 the Port d'Envalira and in 1980 the Col de Peyresourde .

In 1969 Delisle became French road racing champion. In 1970 he was able to win the race again, but the title was revoked because of a positive doping test. In 1975 he won the Tour du Haut-Var and in 1977 the Trophée des Grimpeurs . At the Vuelta a España 1974 he won a stage.

On August 11, 2013, at the age of seventy, Raymond Delisle committed suicide in Hébécrevon in Normandy , where he lived in seclusion .
