Reinprechtsdorf is a neighborhood in the fifth Viennese district Margareten .
Reinprechtsdorf was first mentioned in a document in 1270. The settlement emerged as a riverside village along Schönbrunner Strasse in the area between Groh- and Spengergasse. In the late Middle Ages this settlement was deserted, the name was retained as a field name.
In 1727 the municipality of Vienna became the landlord of Matzleinsdorf and thus also of part of the Nieder-Reinprechtsdorf vineyard. Thus from 1730 the first houses were built on Margaretenstrasse. These houses developed through individual groups of houses into the independent suburb of Reinprechtsdorf.
The incorporation took place in 1850 as part of the new 4th district of Wieden . In 1862 Reinprechtsdorf was assigned to the new 5th district Margareten.
