Ricardo Rosset (born July 27, 1968 in São Paulo ) is a former Brazilian automobile racing driver . He drove in Formula 1 from 1996 to 1998 .
Career
Rosset began his motorsport career at the age of 21 in karting in Brazil. In 1991 he switched to the Brazilian Formula Ford 1600 . He finished the season in fifth place after three wins. In 1992 he went to Europe and competed in the Formula Opel Euroseries . In 1993 and 1994 he competed in British Formula 3 . In 1995 he drove in Formula 3000 and finished the season with second place.
Rosset then began his Formula 1 career in the 1996 Formula 1 World Championship . In 1996 he drove for Arrows alongside Jos Verstappen and in 1998 for Tyrrell alongside Toranosuke Takagi . His first Formula 1 race was the Australian Grand Prix .
1997 Rosset was registered for Lola . After he could n't qualify for the race at the 1997 Australian Grand Prix just like his teammate Vincenzo Sospiri , Lola had to end the season prematurely after the first race due to a lack of sponsorship money.
Rosset was able to qualify for a total of 27 Formula 1 races. His best results were eighth in Hungary in 1996 and in Canada in 1998 . Due to the points system at that time, he could not achieve any championship points. With the exit from Formula 1 Rosset ended his motorsport career.
