The SV Schalding-Heining is a sports club from the Lower Bavarian city of Passau . In addition to the successful football department, which has played in the Bavarian regional league since 2013 , the club also offers the following sports: skiing , curling , dancing , Nordic walking and Callanetics . The association has around 1,500 members.
history
The club was founded on May 22, 1946 in what was then the Passau suburb of Schalding on the right of the Danube as a pure football club. The immediate reason for founding the club was a football game that was played three days earlier between Schalding and the neighboring town of Heining . Among the 50 or so sports fans who had come to the founding meeting were numerous former players from FC Rittsteig, which had been dissolved during the Second World War.
In the first few years after the club was founded, sporting success quickly set in. In 1947 the club became champions of the C-class, and three years later it was promoted to the A-class. After that, development stagnated. The club has been commuting between the C and B class for more than 30 years. In the mid-1980s, a continuous rise began that carried the club between 1983 and 1999 from the lowest division to the second-highest Bavarian amateur league. In the 2006/07 season, SV Schalding-Heining was runner-up in the Landesliga Mitte, but then missed the leap into the Bayern League in the relegation games .
The club achieved its greatest sporting success so far in the 1997/98 season when it won the newly created Bavarian Toto Cup . He qualified for the first main round of the DFB Cup in 1999 , where he lost 1-0 to the then second division team SpVgg Unterhaching .
On May 15, 2009, the club managed to secure the championship title of the Landesliga Mitte two game days before the end and thus advance direct promotion to the Bayernliga.
In the 2009/10 season they finished in the first year of the Bayern League as a promoted 13th place, but had to relegate to the regional league as 17th in the following season. In the 2011/12 season they made it to the Bavarian League again with a second place in the regional league and even qualified for the relegation to the Bavarian regional league , in which they failed at 1. FC Schweinfurt 05 and thus played fifth class in 2012/13 .
After a 2-0 away win at VfB Eichstätt on matchday 34 of the 2012/13 season, they were promoted to the Bayern Regional League for the 2013/14 season . In the course of the ascent, parts of the sports facility on Reuthinger Weg were adapted to the requirements of the regional league. Among other things, the main grandstand was extended, a separate guest block was created and missing safety fences were installed. This renovation work was completed on time for the start of the season.
With 2,500 spectators, the stadium was sold out for the first time on July 26, 2013 in the game between SV Schalding-Heining and FC Bayern Munich's U23s . The guests won 5-0 with confidence. On April 30, 2014, the third division club SV Wacker Burghausen was defeated 1-0 in the semi-finals of the Bavarian Toto Cup in front of over 1,000 spectators and thus had the opportunity to move into the DFB Cup for the second time in the club's history . However, they lost the final on May 14, 2014 in front of 2,100 spectators 4-6 after penalties against the Würzburger Kickers . After a 4: 3 away win at SV Viktoria Aschaffenburg , they finished the season in a good twelfth place and also played in the Bavarian Regional League in the 2014/15 season.
This was again extremely successful for SV Schalding. In the meantime, they were nine games in a row without defeat and stood in a single-digit table for a long time. After a final series of defeats they reached twelfth place in the table with 40 points in the second season in the Regionalliga Bayern . The club was able to consolidate itself in the Regionalliga Bayern. In the season 2015/2016 the 13th place, in the season 2016/2017 the 14th place, in the season 2017/2018 the 11th place and in the season 2018/2019 the 13th place was achieved.
