Sherwood Stewart (born June 6, 1946 in Goose Creek , Texas ) is a retired American tennis player .

Stewart was particularly successful in doubles, where he was able to win a total of 51 titles, including three Grand Slam titles with the French Open in 1976 and 1982 and the Australian Open in 1984 . In addition, he was able to reach three more Grand Slam double finals and ended the 1984 season together with Mark Edmondson at the top of the team standings in the tennis world rankings .

He also achieved two Grand Slam successes in mixed and one success in singles at a Grand Prix event. He got another 42 finals in doubles, 2 in mixed and 1 in singles. He reached his highest placements in the tennis world rankings with place 60 in singles in December 1978, in doubles with place 4 in March 1980.
