The 2010 World Snooker Championship took place from April 17 to May 3, 2010 at the Crucible Theater in Sheffield and marked the end of the 2009/10 snooker season . World champion was Neil Robertson after a 18:13 in the final against Graeme Dott . He won the title as the first non-European since Cliff Thorburn in 1980 .
Defending champion was the Scot John Higgins . Before the final of the World Cup, a betting affair was uncovered by the tabloid News of the World, as a result of which Higgins was suspended for six months.

Main round
With 60 Century Breaks during this World Championship, the record from 2009 (83 Centuries) was not improved. The highest break in the main round was achieved with 146 points by both Mark Allen and Graeme Dott . John Higgins ' break of 115 points in the round of 16 marked his 100th Century Break at the Crucible Theater. Graeme Dott achieved the highest number with eight Century Breaks.
