Career

society

Blackstenius has been under contract with the first division club Linköpings FC since the 2013 season and scored eight goals in 20 league games in their first season in Sweden's top division. When they finished third in the championship, they actually missed the 2014/15 UEFA Women's Champions League because runner-up Tyresö FF ran into financial difficulties, but Linköping was still able to start in the Champions League. In October 2014 Blackstenius came to their first appearances in European club competition in the round of 32 against Liverpool FC Women . After a 1: 2 away defeat, they reached the round of 16 with a 3-0 home win. She played over 90 minutes in Liverpool, but only for the last 12 minutes in the second leg. In the round of 16 against Zvezda 2005 Perm , she only sat on the bench in a 5-0 home win, she did not experience the 3-0 away defeat. In the quarterfinals against Brøndby IF she was in the home game, which was lost 0-1 in the starting line-up and played 75 minutes. In the 1-1 draw in the second leg, she was only substituted two minutes before the end.

At the turn of the year 2016/2017 she joined the French first division HSC Montpellier . In her first season in France she was runner-up and scored seven goals in eleven games. As runners-up, Montpellier qualified for the 2017/18 UEFA Women's Champions League , in which they appeared in six games and scored one goal in a 3-2 away win over ACF Brescia in the round of 16. In Division 1 Féminine 2017/18 she finished third with Montpellier and was fourth-best league scorer with 12 goals. She returned to Linköping in late January 2019 after scoring six goals in twelve league games.

National team

Blackstenius made his debut in the Swedish U-17 national team in 2012 and took part in the U-17 European Championship in 2013 , where Sweden only failed in the final with 0: 1 against outsiders Poland. In the same year, she also played her first game in the Swedish U-19 national team, with which she was eliminated in the preliminary round of the U-19 European Championship in 2014 , but was the top scorer in the overall competition including qualification with twelve goals. In 2015 Blackstenius became European champion with the Swedish U-19 selection and also secured the top scorer's crown with six goals (two of them in the final) in the final round.

On October 27, 2015, she made her debut against Denmark in the Swedish national team. On April 8, 2016, she scored her first international goal in the European Championship qualifier against Slovakia, as did Emilia Appelqvist .

Since there were four European teams that were eliminated in the round of 16 of the 2015 World Cup, a qualifying tournament was scheduled to determine the third European Olympic participant . Blackstenius was substituted on in the games against the Netherlands and Switzerland . In the third game against Norway , through which the Swedes qualified for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , she only sat on the bench. There she was substituted on in the first group game against South Africa in the 69th minute. The next use took place in the quarter-finals against the USA, where she was substituted on after 18 minutes and scored the 1-0 in the 61st minute. Since the Americans managed to equalize and overtime remained goalless, there was a penalty shoot-out, which the Swedes won, although she was not one of the shooters. In the semifinals against hosts Brazil , she was in the starting line-up for the first time, but was replaced after an hour. Here, too, the penalty shoot-out had to decide and again the Swedes had the better shooters. In the final against Germany, she was substituted on in the 55th minute when the score was 0: 2 and eleven minutes later she scored the next goal to make it 1: 2. With her two goals she was Sweden's best goalscorer.

In November 2016, she took part in the U-20 World Cup in Papua New Guinea with the U-20 team . After a 2-0 defeat against eventual world champions North Korea, they won against the hosts 6-0, scoring the first four goals. In the last game against Brazil, which had also lost to North Korea, they had to win to reach the quarter-finals, as the Brazilians had won 9-0 against Papua New Guinea. Blackstenius put their team in the lead in the 14th minute, but the Brazilians were able to equalize and moved into the quarter-finals due to the better goal difference. With her five goals Blackstenius took third place in the list of goalscorers behind two players with five goals each, but more assists.

In qualifying for the 2017 European Championship , she was only used in five games. Sweden qualified as group winners in the penultimate game. At the EM she was used in the four games, but was eliminated in the quarterfinals against the hosts and eventual winners Netherlands. With two goals she was also here - together with Lotta Schelin - the Swedes' top scorer.

In qualifying for the 2019 World Cup , she was used in all seven games played and was the second best Swedish goalscorer with three goals. At the World Cup she was used in six games, only in the group game against Thailand she only sat on the bench. As group runner-up they reached the knockout round, where they scored the goal of the 1-0 win against Canada in the round of 16 . In the quarter-finals, after 24 years, the Swedes won another competitive game against the German team and qualified for the 2020 Olympic Games. Blackstenius scored the 2-1 winner. In the semifinals they were defeated by European champions Netherlands after extra time, but then won the game for third place against England .
