Systematics of the nightshade family

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The systematics of the nightshade family (Solanaceae) has not yet been generally recognized. This is mainly due to the size of the nightshade family , but also to the morphological diversity and the fact that various morphological features can be subject to changes both genetically and locally, and that some features have developed several times in parallel within the family .

The following systematics are the newer systematics that are complete down to the genus or sub-genus level, none of which, however, fully depicts the relationships within the family.
