The Lipschitzallee is a station of the Berlin U-Bahn - U7 . The station is located in the middle of the Gropiusstadt district across the street of the same name , which is named after the SPD politician Joachim Lipschitz , right next to the St. Dominicus Church . The station was opened on January 2, 1970 as part of the extension to Zwickauer Damm . The design comes from Rainer G. Rümmler , who attached importance to a simple design. An escalator and a retrofitted elevator make the station barrier-free .
